Practice and process
At Altiplano, each project is developed through a clear, in-depth, and structured process that seeks to transform a conceptual vision into precise, viable, and buildable architecture.
We begin each commission with a phase of analysis and strategic definition, where we identify the project's key variables: physical, regulatory, programmatic, economic, and temporal conditions. This stage allows us to establish a solid foundation upon which to make informed and coherent decisions.
From there, we construct a guiding concept that articulates the project at all levels. This concept is not an image, but an operational idea that guides the spatial organization, materiality, construction systems, and development logic.
Our design process is iterative and rigorous. We move from the site to the architecture, and from architecture to the details, integrating sustainability, construction efficiency, and economic viability criteria from the early stages, understanding the project as an indivisible whole.
Altiplano operates as a flexible and collaborative structure.
The studio has a central creative direction and works with a network of architects, specialists, and consultants in different locations, allowing us to assemble teams tailored to each project and context.
